Hello, thank you for this article. It’s been very helpful. However I’ll appreciate your help on some answers to some questions I have about the Spain Visa. 1. As at today, 11th October, what’s the visa fee? 2. I’m going on invitation, do I need to have travelled to any schenghen country to qualify for an approval? 3. I dont understand the insurance part, pls explain…looking forward to a helpful reply. Thank you so very much.

    • Adeniyi Sheriff October 13, 2016 at 8:40 am - Reply

Hello, for short term visa fee is 60 EURO + (Service charge 7100 Nairas Inclusive of VAT). The current exchange rate of the euro will determine the Naira equivalent. You can use abokifx.com or any reliable currency exchange website to monitor the rate. From experience, as at today, i paid about 28,000 for my application to France embassy and the good thing is that all schengen has the same visa fee amount.
2- You do not need to have traveled to any schengen country to qualify for a Spanish visiting visa. Though, fo any country visa, having a previous travel history is a plus on your chances of approval but not compulsory.
3- You need a travel insurance to apply for a schengen visa. It is mandatory and must be part of your supporting documents. The insurance covers your medical needs should you need medical attention in the schengen country of visit. You can get the insurance from any insurance company. Schengen has a parnered insurance companies that must be used and you are strongly advised to get your travel insurance from any of the listed and approved insurance company. Click here to check the list of approved insurance company for schengen visa.
The price of the insurance is relatively cheap and varies from 2500 naira for 2 weeks insurance and increases as you increase the number of weeks that you plan to stay in Spain. I hope this response is helpful. Do come back to share your experience with other reader of this blog. Thank you

And pls, one more thing, what does it mean when it says “previous passport”?.

    • Adeniyi Sheriff October 13, 2016 at 8:41 am - Reply

Previous passport simply means your expired intentional passports. If you have one, simply go with it to the embassy.

pls I am a footballer in Nigeria and I have an invitation letter from and amature club in Spain.on the invite letter stated food and accommodation inclusive..I ve previous visa like Dubai visa,Egypt visa but I lost the visa copy of dubai evisa. on my passport the entry and exit stamp still available . will that delay my visa released when applying for Spain visa and also as a sport man , wat docc do I need to back up my application? thanks

    • Adeniyi Sheriff January 11, 2017 at 10:28 am - Reply

Hello, you are not expected to include an e-visa in your application, so losing the Dubai e-visa has no implication on your application. As a sportsman, you will need a letter from the club that you presently play for in Nigeria. The embassy will also like to establish that you will depart thei country and your financial circumstances in Nigeria is what they will use to judge so include your statement of account. All the account you have should be printed ans submitted alongside your application. If you are registered member of any sport association in nigeria, kindly include prove of membership. All the best.

  5. Manuel January 11, 2017 at 12:30 pm - Reply

thanks for your reply.since I don’t ve a huge amount but I ve a sponsor .can I use my sponsor statement of account? will embassy nt demand my personal statement of account? . also I ve a sticker visa of Egypt, morroco, Algeria in my passport ,do I need to have them printed out but Thoe I didn’t visit these countries only ve their sticker ..

    • Adeniyi Sheriff January 11, 2017 at 3:18 pm - Reply

Make photocopies of all previous visas. In the case of sponsorship, you will need both your statement and that of your sponsor. Additionally, you will need a letter from your sponsor stating reasons for the sponsorship and your relationship. I will advise you get an affidavit of support from the high court… It’s cheaper than you can imagine, last one I did for a client was just NGN 1,000.

  6. Manuel January 11, 2017 at 9:19 pm - Reply

the amount of cash present in my personal account is very low.won’t that affect my application and may give negative result ?

    • Adeniyi Sheriff January 12, 2017 at 5:26 am - Reply

I will not like to sugar coat it, having low balance yourself is not good for your chances… It may still be overlooked if high priority is given to your sponsors Account. So it’s a 50 50 situation.

  7. Manuel January 12, 2017 at 7:29 am - Reply

having up to 200,000 naira my personal account will yield positive result? u talkd abt affidavit of support on what? thanks for your help , I rilly appreciate ur effort.

    • Adeniyi Sheriff January 12, 2017 at 11:31 am - Reply

Like i told you, its 50:50 and it all boils down to the perspective of the consular that treat your case. Affidavit of support is just like a letter from your sponsor stating that he/she will be fully responsible for your travel expenses, but in this case, the letter is recognized by the high court and embassy will see it as legally binding on your sponsor to support you for the trip.

  8. Manuel January 12, 2017 at 6:20 pm - Reply

thanks very much bro. but wat is the minimum amount of cash on my personal account can yield a positive result? if having good personal account, do I still need a sponsor account?

    • Sheriff January 15, 2017 at 3:14 pm - Reply

Even with a sponsor account, you must include your personal statement. The balance of ₦1,000,000 and above is OK.

  9. Manuel January 12, 2017 at 6:24 pm - Reply

letter of support e.g will that letter bears the bank account details and all other details of the sponsor? like home or office address,

    • Sheriff January 15, 2017 at 3:16 pm - Reply

It’s a formal letter addressed to the embassy. Please search on Google for samples online

    • Adeniyi Sheriff April 5, 2017 at 4:23 pm - Reply

All the documents listed above are sufficient, since you are travelling with your children, its imperative that you include their birth certificates and you must get a letter of consent from their father (better still an affidavit of consent will also be good instead). Please note that we sell travel insurance and you can go to this link http://naijagoingabroad.com/special-deals/ to order for your insurance, also on the home page of this website, you can book a flight with us to when you finally have your visa. Thank you.

No it won’t. Only salary earners have payslip and for those who doesn’t, no problem, you are just one of many non salary earner without a payslip.

Gud morning sir I have a Dubai visa before I apply for Italy visa with my wife. My niece and her mum last year with all the necessary documrnt and I have up to 4 millions in my acc stil yet day refuse us on section 8 after a long tym delay. So i went to southafrica for my holiday during December perioud but right now I want to go to Spain on the 15th of June which I have more than 3million in my account hope day will grante me dis tym arround. And secondly do I need to add my marriage sertificate cos my wife is not goin with me becos she’s 6month pregnant and b4 that tym she might have deliver tanx

    • Adeniyi Sheriff April 24, 2017 at 7:27 am - Reply

Yes marriage certificate is important and must be added. From what you have just said, 4 million might be huge but the account might not have impressive transaction/income history (remember its about 6 month statement). So do not focus on balance alone. Secondly, i will also advice you go ahead and apply alone this time around, you have good travel history and the account will be sufficient enough for you alone.

    • Tomilade Adesola June 9, 2017 at 6:55 am - Reply

It is also important to note that huge bank statement does not suffice for approval of a Spanish visa or a Schengen visa as a whole. You need to provide Reliable Justification and Conditions of your intended stay. What this means is that you would need to convince the consulate that you deserve to visit Spain and that you have an idea of where your would be visiting. A travel Itinerary would help in this regard. Note that a Travel Itinerary is different from Flight Itinerary. a travel Itinerary would show proof of your travel plans as a tourist (e.g. a prepaid sightseeing trip, museum tickets, football tickets, etc). this would really help the officer to be convinced of your intention.

Hello, Yes your bank statement is still a criterion and part of the basis of evaluation of your eligibility. I strongly advised you have a good statement of account before you proceed with the application.

    HELLO,
Kindly note that VFS Global Services no longer handle Spain Visa Applications for the Spanish Consulate.
The Visa Application is now handled by a new Application Center called BLS International.

The address of the center is:

    3rd Floor, Africa Re Building,
169 Karimu Kotun street, Victoria Island Lagos, Nigeria
    Contact No: 234-(1)-636-1111

BLS however does not have an application center in Abuja presently. Thus all applicants have to be present at the Lagos VAC for submission and biometrics. Kindly update your article to this effect. Thanks.

1- enough to take care of the trip. On a budget, I had estimate ₦800, 000. But generally don’t be mislead that it’s your balance that is important, in fact it’s not. Your statement must show that every month, you earn a decent salary.

2- yes, it’s acceptable and it’s even the best.

    • Adeniyi Sheriff July 12, 2017 at 4:18 pm - Reply

Cash lodging is not allowed in the visa application. The account history is more important than a recent transaction. Most embassies is fully aware that its easy to get people to drop money in your account so that you can print the statement for visa application. I am not discouraging you, it’s fact based on my experience in this. Since you said you are a business person, i want to believe you have transactions taking place on your account seldomely. Another factor such as previous travel history might also count in your favor. An account statement is not the only deciding factor.

First, the embassy would not want to give you a visa beyond the validity of your travel insurance. Also, one of the key factor Schengen countries look into before deciding on the duration of visa is your previous visits to Schengen countries. For first time applicant or visitor, you should expect about 2-3 weeks visa.

All adult applicants are expected to submit their personal statement of account. You cant submit a single account. You can only indicate who is the sponsor in the group. Naijagoingabroad.com in partnership with MUTUAL life insurance sells insurance policy and the price varies for different duration of stay.

Good evening Adeniyi, I applied for a Spain visa since July 5 for a seminar in Spain in August 25. Till this moment, the status is still processing. What do you think could be the issue or can I simply forget it? Thank you

    • Adeniyi Sheriff August 18, 2017 at 9:53 pm - Reply

You don’t have to forget it. Once a visa is approved, your passport won’t magically land on your lap, it goes through various administrative process before it finally get to the submission center. Sometimes I have received visa whose issued date is far from the received date, so I know that such passport witnessed an unusually slow administrative process. So keep faith. It’s well.

Pls sir help me out I applied for a France visa last year but it was denied i don’t no if it will affect my Spain visa application.

    • Adeniyi Sheriff August 28, 2017 at 6:17 pm - Reply

Each application is treated separately. Though previous refusal has a way of affecting the mentality of the visa officer while making visa decision, that is why you need to have a solid package, give no room for errors and make sure all your supporting documents are on point.

Only consular officer has the final say on visa. If you have submitted a complete document, then you have nothing to worry about as that is the best you can do.

Hello Mr Adeniyi, my younger sister wants to apply for Spanish tourist visa and it’s her first time travelling. And the person inviting her is an English man but also a Spanish citizen. He will sponsor her trip. My sister doesn’t have much cash inflow in her account because she is just a school teacher that doesn’t earn much. Although she will still submit her own statement of account, and her sponsor, the Spanish man will also give her invitation letter including his account statement. Is there a high chances of her getting the visa? And is there any other documents she is suppose to submit?

is the applicant above or below 18? what is the relationship to the invitee? and what the traveler’s occupation?
